PERSONAL LIFE
For some reason, March feels like a month filled with new energy, a time to kick yourself in the butt and get things done. I feel like it’s going to a month where lots of changes will occur and, while I look forward to them, I feel like you sometimes need to prepare yourself mentally for the unexpected… I know, it’s odd, but surprises can be so overwhelming and hard on us, and to approach every day as an opportunity to be caught off caught sort of help sharpen my senses.
With the momentary surge of rejuvenation, I also feel like I can get more reading done than in the previous month and look forward to cracking open some good ones throughout the month; as you could see from the TBR previously mentioned. Here’s to a great month filled with confidence and accomplishments!
Thank you all for checking out my monthly anticipation post!
Now tell me what you’re looking forward to this month! Any new releases? Anything exciting you plan on doing?
Yours truly,
Spiderman Noir looks like a lot of fun. I still need to watch the first Quiet Place film, but have every intention of catching the second one as well. I looks like such a brilliant film.
I’m so behind on Westworld, but Aaron Paul is definitely a good selling point for season 3 haha.

It sure does! I hope the story lives up to the premise though!
Oh yes, you definitely have to try the first movie. Make sure you have no distractions around you for this relatively silent movie. 😉
You have to catch up, Lois! While many will say that season 1 was better than the 2nd, the 2nd was still pretty good. Can’t wait for the third! 😀

Norweigan Wood has been on my TBR for a while now, I’m yet to read any Murakami and really can’t wait to get stuck into his back catalogue! I hope you manage to harness some of your March energy to get lots of great reading done and make this a month to remember! x

I read Kafka on the Shore and was stunned by how his writing made his story so digestible in a weird way hahah I look forward to discovering Norwegian Wood next. 😀
Thank you so much! Hope March will be even more fantastic for you too, Anna. 😀 😀

So, you going to ask your gf to marry you? Is that what all the hints about change, etc are about? If so, more power to you!
I trust Weeks keeps your interest with the next book, I know it kept mine. As far as I’m concerned, that series just got better and better 🙂
Spiderman Noir looks cool, but while I’m slightly warming to the whole Noir idea (between Larry Correia’s Grimnoir, Dan Willis’ Arcane Casebook and Glen Cook’s Garrett PI I’ve reading more Noir than I have ever done in my life), it still takes something special to get me into it. I have to admit, I didn’t care for the look of this spiderman when I saw the Super Hero Cafe parody of Into the Spiderverse. I’ll reserve judgement until I see what you have to say though 😉
I can’t believe that Westworld is still going on. When they announced it, I gave it one season. Then when I watched the sequel movie to Westworld (it was so un-memorable that I can’t even remember its name) my estimates of the chances of the tv show went even lower! Honestly, I’m ok with being wrong 🙂
As for the Disney/Pixar movie, I’m definitely taking a wait and see approach. Disney has lost almost all its appeal to me I just don’t trust them any more.
And on that cheery note….

Hahahah nothing like that, my friend! We both know that we still got a couple of years before making big moves like that. 😉
Oh man, that’s definitely good to hear. I can’t imagine how it could possibly disappoint me. Maybe if it dared do a complete cast change all of a sudden. 😛
It’s pretty cool to see you embrace the darker things in life through the books you read hahaha The Spidy Noir suit was featured in the last Spider-Man movie too, and was also, like you might have guessed if you haven’t seen it, in the Into the Spiderverse animated movie. It’s definitely cool to see it get a nuit series and hopefully it’s a good one!
I can assure you that the movie and the shows are two completely different things hahah I’d recommend watching the first season in the background, if you could though. I think you’d enjoy it… The whole sci-fi blend with western. I know it was a warm welcome for me hahah
And yes, I think it’s okay to be patient with Disney stuff nowadays… They make enough money anyways.

Well great things to look forward to here Lashaan! I will keep an eye on Vin Diesel’s movie because that’s one I could watch with the whole family (guys included) 😉

Spiderman Noir! Yeah! 😀 And Ross, that will be hopefully as stunning as his Marvels (and Injustice!). This one I can’t wait to see!
I’m one book into Weeks’ series and will definitely continue, so I’ll be looking forward to the review 😉
My interest in Westworld somehow fizzled out by the second season, though I really loved the first. I guess when the mystery was solved there was nothing to keep me rooted. I must admit though, I find it more and more difficult to be really impressed by TV/movies. Most of it is just ok.
Good luck in March, Lashaan!

Oh, I bet this new Marvels project will be utterly stunning!
I’m glad that you hoped onto the bandwaggon! It’s such a beautiful world with awesome characters to make it fun and exciting. I honestly can’t wait for the final book in particular.
I agree with you there. The second season was less mind-boggling as the first one, especially in terms of playing with our minds to figure out what’s what… I am still really curious about the third season, now that it enters new grounds. Hopefully the new cast and new setting will lead to an exciting new story! 😀
Good luck to you too, Ola! Hope you have a great month of March! 😉

Thank you! 😄
I’m watching Altered Carbon S2 right now, but this one too is less impressive than the first. We’ll see.
I’m planning to come back to Westworld S2 at some point. Glad you enjoyed it enough to warrant watching S3 😀
I’ll be reading Blinding Knife this year for sure, but not yet. These are massive! With books that long I usually get tired with the characters at some point and need a break 😉

One of these days I need to try Brent Weeks. I haven’t read anything by Haruki Murakami, but I enjoyed the movie rendition of Norwegian Wood. And I also enjoyed A Hero Born, though I can understand why others might not. It’s not like any of the western fantasy series, and it does seem geared to some extent towards younger readers. But for me it brought back memories of many of the wuxia movies I’ve watched over the years, which maybe helped me put it into a context where I really enjoyed it. And Alex Ross… I haven’t read anything he’s illustrated in quite some time, possibly since Marvels, but WOW, I like his artwork.
Have a great March, Lashaan!

I highly recommend Brent Weeks’ Lightbringer series. I know you’ve got a couple of books of his other series and all that, but I do hope you get to complete your collection and get to dive into them ASAP!
I haven’t seen the movie adaptation but I’ll probably try it out after I check out the book this month.
I like how you contextualized your appreciation of A Hero Born. I’ll keep that in mind. I usually find books translated from Chinese author a bit hard to appreciate but I hope this one will be a bit different.
I’m glad that we both know the greatness of Alex Ross’ work! I do hope his new project will be prove to be as unique and stunning again!
Have a fantastic month too, Todd! 😀

Yay! I love your monthly anticipations because they are always so motivating 😀 While I can’t possibly dream to read as much as you, I also feel like I’m gonna get more done this month… let’s see how it ends up in a month though 😂 I’m very excited for you to read Norwegian Wood as it is one of my all-time favourite books, and quite different from Murakami’s other books, looking forward to the review on that one especially 😊

Hahahah hooray for motivating each other with our motivations! 😜 I do hope you’ll be able to do everything you want to do though, Juliette!
I look forward to Norwegian Wood! I’ve heard similar things from your sister too. 😂 Here’s hoping it won’t disappoint me somehow! 😜
