Hello ladies & gentlemen,
Who doesn’t love the anticipation of new releases and things that they plan on doing? Every month there seems to be something new and exciting ready to hit the market for our consumption.
Being ready to embrace them with open arms is all we can really do.
To showcase this, I’ll be sharing my top 3 for each category of things that I look forward to this month right here, right now!
TO BE READ

BOOK RELEASES

COMIC BOOK RELEASES

TV SHOW RELEASES
If you know the group, then you know what’s up. I’m intrigued by the historical context and look forward to finding out how factually accurate it’ll be.
The first episode premieres on September 4th!
While the whole world was skeptical about season 1, its casting and the VERY dark tone it gave this young squad, I ended up enjoying the original take and the direction it was taking!
Season 2 premieres on September 6th!
I love how the criminal organization shows/movies are taking over nowadays! And this one stars good ol’ Forest Whitaker. I’m intrigued!
The first episode premieres on September 29th!
MOVIE RELEASES
If you haven’t seen Pennywise in action back in 2017 then you’ve clearly missed out on a wonderful movie! Can’t wait to see what chapter 2 has to offer for us.
Out on September 6th!
Although I haven’t read the book yet, this trailer had me curious since day 1!
Out on September 13th!
I would have never guessed that another movie would be released in this franchise but here we are. I’ll probably end up binging through the previous movies but I know my expectations are low for this one. It’ll just be braindead fun to see Stallone reprise his role as Rambo!
Out on September 20th!
PERSONAL LIFE
While I made the most out of August, September is going to be a wild ride as I look forward to new opportunities and new projects on the horizon. While plunging back into the University stuff will be hard chew on, it’ll quickly lead to progressing in my academic route as I discover plenty of new things along the way. I especially can’t wait to see how everything will discretely come to shape my life only to realize it at the end of the year.
Speaking of the end of the year, is it just me or is 2020 already super close? As every year passes by, I feel older and older… But hey, I know I’ll always be a kid at heart! 🙂
Thank you all for checking out my monthly anticipation post!
Now tell me what you’re looking forward to this month! Any new releases? Anything exciting you plan on doing?
Yours truly,
I love Dune! It’s one of my favorite books! I hope you enjoy it.

Wow a new Rambo film I didn’t know about that! I wonder how many times he’ll shout “Don’t push me!”? 😀

Hahahahha tell me about it! I do hope this entry won’t be just an attempt to milk a franchise out!

Huh, lots to comment on here.
Dune. Fantastic. Glad to see you are going to be reading it. Whatever you think of it, I’ll be extremely interested in your review.
How is there a second IT movie? Considering that King wrapped things up, I don’t see how a sequel can exist. Unless, some hack writers are telling their own story and just put the trappings of IT over it. Honestly, that is what I’d be afraid of. Not that I’m ever going to watch it, as me and scary movies are a complete no-no. Scary images get in my brain and make me jumpy for weeks.
And a final Rambo movie? Geez, it’s almost as bad as the Rocky franchise. Actors really need to learn when to let the past go and let it stay in the past.

Oh man, I’m just as intrigued to find out how amazing it actually is.
Ah it’s cause the book is split in two where the first half covers the story with the group of protagonists are kids, and then the other half is the same cast as adults. Now, if they do a chapter 3, now I’d think that it was an attempt to mill a franchise.
Hahahah Stallone has been doing this lately, with his return in the Rocky spin-off Creed. I am curious to see if this won’t be an unnecessary entry. Between reboots and this kind of sequels, I think I’d rather see a sequel and see if nostalgia will play to its advantage. 😂

I really enjoyed the first season of Titans, Dick Grayson has always been my favourite Robin so I love seeing him in a live action capacity. I’m curious to see what direction the new season follows, and I’m especially curious to see the influence Bruce and Slade Wilson have on the team. I’m also slightly hoping we get a Barbara Gordon cameo cause she’s my other fave haha.
I am also really excited to read Abercrombie’s new book. It looks deadly and delicious 😂

Same here. It’s a lot darker than the comics but it’s interesting nonetheless! I am also curious to see what they do with all the characters they can integrate in this universe. I just know it’s super fun for what it is and season 2 will be its moment to push things further, now that we know the characters!
I do hope you get to read and enjoy it! It’ll be my first Abercrombie myself! 😁

Oooh I am very excited/nervous about The Goldfinch. I know most Donna Tartt fans are all about The Secret History but it was The Goldfinch that really did it for me.

I’m intrigued by both titles but your comment definitely made me want to prioritize The Goldfinch over The Secret History now! 😁

Yes! Tell me about it. And I’m convinced the artwork in it is PHENOMENAL! I can’t wait to share it with everyone when I get around to reviewing it! And yeees hahahah it was a surprise that they even planned on making a sequel! As for the Adrian comment hahahahah That’s a Rocky reference, not Rambo! 😂 Oh man… I’m not excited to get old! 😂

I’m actually looking forward to that last Rambo movie 😉 Stallone has returned to being much more conscious actor/director over the years (first Rambo and Rocky were really decent movies) and that trailer looks like he wants to come full circle. That Harleen cover looks great! I wasn’t a fan of White Knight, so will wait for your review of that new Murphy comic 😉 Good luck at the uni!

I’m also curious since he was pretty decent in Creed. I just hope that this latest entry in the Rambo franchise is an attempt to milk it with his reputation and nostalgia around the movie. I hope the story will be as good as the artwork for Harleen though. Ahhh yes, I remember you saying that about White Knight. I do hope it’ll be an original story! Thanks for the support, Ola! 😁

I can already feel 2020’s breath on the back of my neck. It’s insane!
10 years after the previous volume of “The Umbrella Academy”? Wow.

Tell me about it. Although it is exciting that we’ve reached 2020 and that there’s plenty of exciting things to come going forward, it’s still scary how fast it has arrived!
Yep. 10 years. The release of the Netflix TV series might have helped to get it released too. Will be reviewing the third volume soon enough. 😀

Dune??!! I keep getting recs from folks to read that too, but I’ve been putting it off because I think I might not like it…dunno why I think that. I’ll def be on the lookout for your review.

I want to tell you that even after a couple weeks, my mind wanders back to The Bone Ships. Really liked it.
A Little Hatred will probably be my next read.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts on Dune Lashaan, my only exposure is through the 1980s movie and I will definitely be checking out the new one (from master director Denis Villeneuve no less!!!). The book, I’ve heard takes some commitment.
Still got to read Batman: The White Knight but it’s on the pile! Growing up in the 80s/90s as a fan of Stallone and Schwarzenegger, it’ll be little surprise to you that I’m a HUGE Rambo fan and CANNOT wait for Last Blood. I can definitely recommend you at least seeing the first Rambo film – ‘First Blood’ it remains a top tier favourite of mine (I enjoy 2 and 3 but bear in mind they’re a bit jingoistic and musclebound but good fun and the fourth film is…pretty violent, a bit controversial and not for the timid).

Oh yes, I’m pushing this super high on priority just for Villeneuve’s upcoming movie too. Something tells me we aren’t too far away from hearing more about it soon.
Sounds like you might end up binging Murphy’s stories soon gahahh Ahhh I was a fan as a kid too of their movies (of most members of the Expendables in fact) but later entries in all their franchises have often been questionable in quality… I do hope this next Rambo movie will be nostalgic and well-done though!

Yeeeeeeeeessssssssss, DUNE! I hope you love it! 😯😯😯😯😯😯 I’m so excited for you!
So many interesting things on TV. I wish I had Hulu. I wonder if they still do a 30 day free trial. I haven’t seen one advertised in forever. Rotten Tomatoes has an entertainment channel? Where have I been? 📺
I was about halfway finished with The Goldfinch about three years ago, maybe four, and I got swamped with ARCs and never got the chance to finish it, and I keep forgetting to pick it back up. I need to finish it soon so I can watch the movie. I was loving the book. In fact I don’t have to reread anything because it was so good it has stuck in my memory! 🙌🙌🙌I
Have a great school year! My son is finally in his last semester of undergrad. He’s looking at different Masters programs now. I know I saw what your field of study was somewhere, but it slips my mind right now. 🎓

I’m sooooo excited to read Dune for the first same time! 😍😍😍
I have no idea if that exists but you’ll have to be careful nowadays. There’s a hundred new streaming services coming out with exclusive content and you have to pick the ones that interests you the most! 😂 And yes, Rotten Tomatoes is everywhere now since their aggregate number for movies is such a huge subject every time a movie comes out.
You’re definitely making me want to pick up The Goldfinch now! I really need to find a way to read it before I forget it. 😂
Ohhh that’s sweet! Sounds like he’s enjoying his field and it’s ALWAYS great to hear about kids pursuing postgrad studies! I’ve done my Bachelors and Masters in criminology. And now doing my 2nd year of my PhD in criminology! 😁
