Jesse Eisenberg in The Social Network (2010)
This was a re-watch of one of director David Finch’s classics and it was an excellent, dramatic and comedic recreation of the rise of Facebook. 4 ½ stars outta 5.

PERSONAL LIFE

This is my birthday month and it was bound to be a great one with the amazing people I’m surrounded with. It’s a bit odd to hit the halfway mark to 50 but I do feel like I officially became a full-fledged adult. Just kidding. I’m still a kid at heart and I’ll make sure to keep that side of me as immortal as possible.

To put the cherry on top of the cake the only Canadian basketball team in the NBA won its first championship title by beating the reigning champion! It’s nice to see them take it home and make us Canadians proud. After all, we did create the sport! #TorontoRaptors #WeTheNorth

Check out this video of the downtown Montreal, Quebec (Canada) after-victory celebration that sort of escalated quickly. Can’t do anything about troublemakers, huh?

On the 21st of June, I also embarked on a huge adventure: a three weeks Euro trip! While the first flight to Marseille, France was one of the worse departures in my life (first came a two hour delay, then 2 hours into the flight, the aircraft had to head back for a mechanical failure that then led to a five hour delay before the next flight which also had a two hour delay before finally departing), the trip so far is incredible and enchanting. I plan on sharing more details on what I’m currently doing later in the month once it’s all done!

One thing I want to confirm and share with everyone is that taking some time off from your responsibilities is necessary to remain sane and zen in life. Don’t hesitate to do it!

  1. Happy travels! I hope all your flights are smooth from here on out. Delays are just the worst. I would say that’s how you managed to get so much reading done but you’re like this normally, haha. Happy 25th! 🙂

I’m glad The Social Network holds up! I haven’t watched that movie in yeeeeaars.

  2. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! When it comes! 😀
And yes, time off from responsibilities is needed sometimes. I took a whole week off in May or so because I was working too much, missed my friends, and was exhausted.

  3. Happy early birthday, welcome to the quarter-life crisis club.

Your three weeks Euro trip sounds incredible and hopefully, the travelling will be smooth sailing for the rest of the trip. Where else will you be visiting? I’ve been itching to book a holiday for a while now. I need some ‘me’ time and I love exploring new cities.

I went on a 2 week trip and was so happy to return and I started to get really bummed by my companions (from school) hahaha I wonder how 3 weeks will be. I hope you really enjoy yourself and I’ll look forward to your trip post and all the places you visited!! Happy Belated Birthday too!! 😀

  5. It’s been a while since I have visited, I can’t remember if I wished you a happy birthday! If not, happy birthday! If I did already, have many more! Still very busy at work. Barely getting in my blog posts, but I have been keeping to a regular schedule so far.
